I bought various dowels, casters, rope, screws and dowel screws and my husband got creative, with a little help from me. And we come up with this..
they really seem to be enjoying it and we added a lot of extra rope knots for skipper since he loves to chew them up. We tried to make it easy to replace anything that has rope on it so that when it gets dirty or skipper finally demolishes it we can just take it off and put on new ropes.
The food and water dish was a challenge since we didn't want to use pvc. I found the little bowls at a dollar store, I think.. 3 for $1 and we used heavy gauge aluminum rod that is inserted into a self healing air line tube to make the dish mounts and make them easily removed for cleaning and resupplying while keeping the birds away from the metal.
I want to add some dishes lower down for the parakeets since Skipper isn't allowing them near the top near Sunny (his love child with the pole he dances with).
