my parrot is injured plsss help

I have a seven yearz old pet in green color it is basically an indian ring parrot.. I love him so much n it is everything to me I cant just hold my tears right now. Sorry fr the typos. My parrot wwas hit by a ceiling floor while it was flying in my room. It accidently flew to the tv lounge and hit by the fan. I switched it off n waited for it it landed on the floor gasping its eyes were coal black with pain. I picked him n found that his one leg was injured there was no bleeding yet it had a hard time moving the toes. I made him feel relaxed by making him drink water . I didnt know wat to do I made a paste of oil n turmeric to cover his wound. I didnt let it move ananywhere n kept it on bed for three hours. It was normal thought I found that his leg's feathers were gone I looked closely oh gosh his skin was bleeding. I dabbed some cotton in the paste n applied on the wound. I gave it a lot if fruits to eat n it eated normally. It lost balance because of injured foot so I prepared a soft pillow myself tearing my pillow n stuffing the polyster in a cushion cover. I fixed it on its cage n it could sit properly on it. I didnt sleep the first night I kept crying n prayed to god for my parrot's heAlth I could feel its pain........
The next day I tried calling A vet nobody was available. I had to treat my parrot myself I checked it.. wound was not as severe as it was before. My parrot could nt hold on the perch when I placed it . I took it back to the cage n prepared the fresh mixture by adding one spoon of turmeric to two spoon of oil. I applied the lukewarm paste in the woung n let my pet sleep in my room for three hours. I checked on it again.. it was now trying to mive its toes n I was happy my med was working. I cleaned the wound.. the leg was red but blood was changing color from red to black. On the third day I applied polyfax on the wound n noticed that my pet was comfortable. There is no vet available today n i still have to treat my parrot at home. Pls suggest me somthing. I cant apply ny chemical ointment because he touches the leg with beak... m so worried n exhausted.. I could nt sleep properly I m giving it healthy fruits to eat n thanks to god it is eating very well but I m depressed I cant sleep properly. I dont leave my pet alone n cant do it until its recovered. It us sleeping on the mattress in the cage which I keep beside my bed. I keep checking on it the whole night n keep feeding it with pomegranate every four to six hour at night.my pet us healthy bt unable to walk due to injured foot

The best thing you can do is find an avian vet asap. Could you give us your rough location so we can help you find one?

One thing you can apply in the meantime is fresh-cut Aloe-Vera to soothe it. But you need to get him to a vet as soon as possible. Good luck, I hope he recovers. also I wouldn't be putting oil into any open wounds it could cause a serious infection. Are you located in South Asia?

Can you post a picture? Is it the foot or the leg? If the blood is black, it is normally clotting and scabing which is good. See if he wiggles his toes when you touch it to see if its broken or not.

It sounds like you have been doing the right things, although I am not sure you can find an aloe plant like Kalidasa suggested.....if it does not appear that its legs or wings were broken, your bird is probably just bruised and sore.....it would be a good thing to keep it from flying for a few days and you could carefully move it's sore toes, just to be sure they or the leg is not broken.....

I understand about the vet not being available, but like KC mentioned, if one is available, you should try to take your bird to a vet who is familiar with birds.....

It is 8:48 am here I dint sleep the whole night its hard to find vets in pakistan. My pet is very sensitive he doesnt let anyone touch his body . I touched his toes they felt lifeless to me but the second day he could sense when I was touching his toes. They r getting normal though he cant grip or grab anything.he is sleeping now will take his pics today

I dont let him fly or move. I haven't heard of the plant can you tell me where to get it n how to use it. He is bruised because wounds can be seen changing color easily.

He doesnt wiggle his toes but tries to move them. He can sense my touch on the toes.

I will have to get aloe vera from the farm. M not applying oil alone m mixing it with turmeric to stop the infection n heal the wound. I can see some improvements already

The aloe plant releases a sap/liquid that helps promote wound healing, but it is not critical to the bird's recovery. Check to see if you can find a product called Neosporin cream.....it comes in tubes, both as a cream and as an ointment.....the cream can be rubbed into the skin of an open wound while the ointment is petroleum based and is better suited to keep moisture out of a wound while providing the same antibiotics to the wound.....asking at a pharmacy or health clinic might get you the name of a product that is available locally, if Neosporin is not available.....

Since it sounds like your IRN just received a scrape/slight wound, watching it to be sure it does not get infected may be the best thing, because it sounds like the bird was very lucky.....

Your bird will remember this encounter with the fan, but you need to be very careful about its flying around ceiling fans.....if it were to get scared or excited and fly off, while the fan is running, it might not remember as quickly.....

You might want to feed less liquid fruits, and a scrambled or hard boiled egg would be good for him, then back to his regular diet, I think.....

Ok u will apply neosporin today . Will it harm my bird if he licks or eat the medicine because I have mentioned he touches his toes n leg with beak that was the reason for my not applying the ointment at the first place. I am so tensed atm. Do you think he will be able to walk again? Yes you are right he is lucky he is so dear to me. I cant tell u how much pain I have been through all these days.

I woke up n found that my parrot was sleeping next to me he might have been in pain n came out of cage to tell me I m going to the market I will appreciate if u could suugest me any light oral med or pain killer as well. He is in fever right now body is hot

I don't think parrots get fevers, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Their natural temperature is much warmer than a humans. If he walked over to you he's probably a little better. I know it's hard to find an avian vet in Pakistan, if not impossible. If you can't find a vet, than at least find someone with some experience with parrots. Is he standing on that leg yet?

I am not sure if he was in fever his body was burning n hot maybe it was due to injury. Its been three days n he cnt stand properly he can move the injured leg though but not much.i went to the market to buy neosporin it is nt available nywhere plz tell me what is the genric name or salt name of cream is.i have bought panadol drops which r red or pink in color these drops r given to infants who r two yearz old. I will give him one drop after every five to six hour today

Hello I would like to thank u for u help on the forum u have been guiding me nicely since morning.i checked with 20storez n pharmacies for the med u told me I showed ur post as well they told me neosporin is not available in cream or ointment in pakistan. Could u please tell me the genric name of the cream or salt? Do I need to get it shipped from usa?
