My Timneh African Gray is 11 months old. Until now he has been primarily mild tempered. But today he started having fits of yelping. At first we thought maybe a bug was biting him, because he would squawk angrily or frightenedly and look around at his side, as if something was bothering him there. He continued to have these fits throughout the day. Each would only last a few seconds, 5 or 10 seconds at most. It happened while he was in his carrying case and he seemed to want to bite the cage.
The fits started when we took him to an auto dealer to get our car's oil changed. We were sitting in the auto display room when he started to have the fits. Then we were driving in our own car and he continued to have them periodically. Later that day when he was in his cage he did not have the fits. But when I took him out to the park, he started having them again. By now I no longer thought it was a bug. I'm not sure what it is. Anybody have a clue?
