My new GCC - what do I do?

I have had my GCC for 3 days. Today I called the shop that we bought her from to get some information on how old she is, etc. I was told that she is no older than 2 years old (great help that was...) so now I am unsure of what to do.
She is already affectionate, she loves to be held, she enjoys attention and loves to give kisses.
Sometimes it is hard to get her to come out of her cage but I just put that down to being a new environment and being a bit wary.

Now that I know she is over a year old I am worried that naming her won't really work as she may not respond to her name? I have no information on her previous owners and the shop couldn't give me any either. What do I do now?
I am going to buy a clicker to see if I can train her.

I love her to bits already and I just want to be the best mama I can be for her.

Naming shouldn't be a problem at that age. My GCC was called Berry by the first owner, then Polly by the relatives who took her, and I reverted her back to her original name. She was about 5-6 years old when I got her.

I think most of us have birds that call themselves plenty of names besides their own!

It'll take her a little while to get used to you but it seems like you're doing great already, so don't worry if things are a little challenging right now, just keep doing what you're doing!

I agree, naming shouldn't be a challenge as long as you are consistent and call her the same thing every time for a while. She looks like such a sweetie, congratulations!

Similar to how we got Foo. They thought she was around 18 months, but weren't certain. No band either, from Petco. A customer left her there because she was a biter.

She didn't know any human words when we got her. She learned the name we gave her and says both Foo and Foofany, as well as responds to it. We've had her since early 2012 and she has been sweet and comical little family member.
