my new conure

I've just some money down for a Green Cheek but, can't take him/her home until I'm done paying H/H off so I go to the store everyday for a visit, they let me handle the bird for about an hour, which is super nice. My question is today she was nibbling all up and down my arm, kind of licking my arm hair and chewing on my skin. She only hurt me once but, stopped instantly when I nudged her beak and said ouch. So what is this? do conures groom? the Pet store owner said she was grooming me but, I'd never heard of that. I'm new into the bird life and I'm extremely excited and very curious. Again she isn't biting me per se, more nibbling.

Congrats, almost daddy. Grooming, but conures can be nibblers that may need to be trained not to become pinchers. You got a baby, so easy to train.

Congratulations on your new baby and a sure sign he or she has picked you to be his/her person is that the grooming and preening has already begun...in your babies eyes you are now part of his/her Flock. Thats a Great first step in parronting. Enjoy your new baby
