My new Buddy!

So we decided to rename Buddy, and are now calling him Davy Jones. He responds very well when we call him Davy.

He has been with us just over a week. He loves to be sang too, and will sing along with the right song (usually the Eagles lol). So far I have gotten him used to taking food from my hand, fruit and veggies and bigger seeds and pellets from his food. He seems very afraid of my hands (unless they have food) and doesn't know step up at all. The last day or two, I have gotten him to step up, but he gets off very quickly, and runs.

The highlight of my day today was when I was singing to him he slowly lean close to my face, and made a sweet cooing noise, i didn't move into him, just kept singing and I so thought i was going to get a kiss!

He hasn't really bitten, just used his beak to push away and slightly pinch. I am pushing him, but hopefully not to much.

Any other advice? He is a very sweet bird, and I am looking forward to getting him to trust and even love us.

It sounds like you've made excellent progress in only a week! I love the new name. Davy likes music, he must be comfortable if he's already dancing and talking to you. If you find the right song, I'm sure you'll have your kiss before too long.
