Oh Noooo !! I have just been on phone to Breeder and Codie is still being fed with a Syringe and not eating much on her own!! I was confident enough to spoon feed her myself, but they have said she wont take it from a spoon!! So it looks like she now wont be coming Home till next Sunday :( By that time she will be 11 1/2 weeks old and hopefully more weaned by then.. Im disappointed but I would rather be safe than sorry. Ive waited this long, so im sure another week wont hurt!! I will let you know on progress :)

Congrats!! How exciting. Yes, great cage.... sorry to hear that your baby's arrival has been delayed, how disappointing. But, like you said better safe than sorry.

Plus, I think that says good things about your breeder. To keep the bird longer than expected to make sure it's good and weaned.

Hope your waiting goes fast!

Yes I tend to agree with you there Missy. Its given me alot of confidence in the Breeder. They are lovely people and you can see when your there just how much they care about their Babies. :)
Im hoping next week goes quickly!! Still I have plenty to keep me occupied with getting ready for Xmas..

Is the breeder close enough that you can visit and feed Cody yourself ?

Hi Richard,

Sadly no he lives a 2 hour drive away from me :(

Well get the breeder to give you some extra formula in case you need it.And ask if you need help with that new YC baby, I'll be glad to baby sit for the next few years, LOL.

Congrats! BUT it would be safer to let them wean and wait another week afterwards to be sure he is eating on his own! I never sell my babies out freshly weaned. I wait at least one to two weeks before letting them go. And when I do get a stubborn baby at times, I don't let them go until they're fully trained. It all begins with me, proper training from the beginning goes a long ways!!!!

Thanks Richard :D The Breeder is going to bring some formula with him just in case. Im sure when she comes home I will be asking for your advice at some point :) You would have a long way to come and Baby Sit LOL ;)

Hi Mikey,
Thanks for the advice.. :)

Congrats on the new baby! It is better to be cautious and make sure she is fully weaned. That will definitely make her transition to your home easier for both of you.

I adopted a YC almost 3 weeks ago and am very happy with him!

Thanks Roxy.. :) How old is your YC? Is he friendly? Love to see some pics :)

I haven't quite managed to figure out how to post pics, lol! I tried using photobucket, but they didn't post up here. It looked like it worked the same way as another forum I frequent, but nothing happened. I need a little advice on that I guess!

He (or she, I don't actually know) is 28. Was with one owner since he was a newly weaned chick. It took a couple of days before he started interacting with me, but we came a long way much more quickly than I expected. He is very friendly and such a ham! He's also cuddly, which is nice since my conure isn't. She is a little spaz that wants to run around and investigate everything she can reach. Don't get me wrong, I love her dearly, but she's just not a touchy, cuddly girl. So it's always nice if you have one bird that is.

The way I upload pics is when you post on here, scroll down and it says attach files, click on manage attachments, then browse to any pics you have on your PC, then click upload :)
Thats great that your YC has bonded with you so quickly :D

No, for some reason that isn't working for me either. I'm having the same problem as well on another forum. But, on that one either people mentioned it not working anymore from them either, but posting from photobucket did. Maybe it's my computer after all. It just tells me that it's a bad request sent by my computer.

Here is a link to pictures on my photobucket album you can look at though:

Ok, hopefully that will work! He is displaying in that pic.
