Blue-fronted amazon
hey

I bought Blue-headed Amazon. Since he is still very small - the baby is completely unsteady on his feet, he is still very weak. The problem arises when she falls from her stand to the bottom of the cage while exploring her new home. Since then, she's been a little bit sore on her right leg, I checked and I don't think she's in pain because I touched her leg, but you can see that she has a little problem with her. I don't think anything should have been broken because it's not quite the height from which it can be broken, at least in my opinion. Maybe she's a baby, so she's not quite able to tell herself that everything is okay or that a fracture, sprain, or something like that happened. She has no problem when she climbs the cage, she lifts her leg normally, but I have a feeling she is afraid to lean on it. Normally, he really climbs up and scratches his head with that same leg. He holds her in the air, as you can see in these clips, but he relies on her when he needs to walk around his new home.

I called the breeder and he said not to worry and that she will start walking normally again.

Scary!
If you'd like additional professional help...
Certified Avian Vets
If none are near you...
Avian Veterinarians
In my opinion, any of the vets listed here should be better than a regular vet.
International contacts, too.
If none are near you, maybe you could call and ask for a recommendation for somebody in your area.
And... sometimes, distant vets will offer brief thoughts or advice...
Or... sometimes I find a place to start just by Googling "avian veterinarian near ((your location))"
Or maybe a local breeder might help... again, maybe Google?

Hey guys, I did an X-ray and everything is completely okay, there are no fractures, nothing more, the bones are excellent for a bird that is about 3 months old, filled with potassium, and everything is really perfect, as are the lungs and other bones. He told me that when she fell, she strained a muscle, which, unlike the other leg, was swollen, and he gave me a medicine called Meloxoral 0.5 mg, but he said not to worry because it is a medicine for cats and he dosed it according to her size to relieve the pain and reduce the swelling, and I'm giving this until about Tuesday.
