Willow the Umbrella Cockatoo
So I officially adopted Willow today, she came home tonight, 3 hours through a terrible thunder storm. Got home and I think she was a bit overwhelmed at first, but after a bit she decided to cuddle. She's very sweet, surprisingly quiet so far. I'm sure that will change.

Tomorrow's project consists of some new toys and some perches for the cage. I'll try to find some new bowls too for the top stand. So far she's only eaten a little and won't take any treats, makes it hard to spoil her, lol

She does talk pretty well, not entirely trained tho. She'll say "hello" "how are you" and "pretty bird" very clear. She kinda mumbles/whispers a bit as well.

Very happy, and excited to get to know her better.

Congratulations Willow! Best of luck with your new human, you gorgeous girl!

She's beautiful, Tom! Toos are emotional creatures, let her set the pace. The noise level may change, the sweet is there to stay. Enjoy getting to know her.

Very nice cage, Willow will like the play top. Looking forward to see it furnished, your girl will probably want to help decorate.

Very nice :) This guy looks like their a riot [from what I see on facebook]

Welcome home willow! Very beautiful bird. Congrats Tom!

I just brought my cockatoo home a couple weeks ago, also. It took Kili time to settle in. She was VERY quiet the first few days and didn't eat a whole lot. She still only plays with 1 toy. I'm sure your new baby will settle in also! Good luck!

Thanks everybody.

I was hoping she wouldn't get me up so early, but expected it at the same time, lol

5:30am, rise and shine! Lol

Installed a couple perches in the cage first thing this morning....she wants nothing to do with them so far, lol

Next step is to get some toys and just get her settled in.

Willow is a very pretty girl! She is in perfect feather too. I bet with all the love and spoiling she can expect from you, she will remain that way:) Lovely girl, I bet you are beyond thrilled!

LOL. Willow is your new "jungle alarm clock". I grew up with one of these too, he was good too, even with the covers on if the tiniest ray of light got under, he was waking the whole neighborhood up:52:. Hope 5:30am is when you planned to get up from now on;) If not, at least you'll have extra time in the morning for preparing her fruit and veg:54:

I was expecting it.

It's actually cute how she does it....just keeps saying "hello" and "how are you? "

Is this normal? Lol

She seems to love the "Birdy Treadmill" lol

Looks like something a cockatoo would do lol. They are a tad on the "odd" side;) She can obviously climb all the way up if she wants, so it looks like she's just having fun (or maybe it's her own birdie version of pull ups!).

How old is Willow? She looks to be quite healthy and in perfect feather:)
