... needs to be in a sealed travel mug, because Kyo is adamant about trying to get it. Anyone else have this problem? How do you manage to eat and drink around your birds without having them steel things that aren't good for them? she's so obsessed with the coffee mug it's almost funny.

Mugs on the floor and i'm picky about when I have pazu out while I eat. He's out for breakfast, worst he does is normally is want to be held when I have breakfast.
But I wouldn't have him out if I had curry.

Bonus!
One time I had soup with him out, very hot, he flew over and tried to land in it. Sadly he learnt a lesson. It luckily he was fine.

Kyo wants to sit on the travel mug.. so I have to hide it on the window ledge and grab sips when she is distracted by her birdy mash. They are just so funny.

One of the first nights I had her I made curried vegetables and plain ones for her. She decided that my vegetables were way better and landed right in the middle of my plate. She was not thrilled about the immediate bath to follow lol

I normally only have Fred on me when I'm having after dinner snacks. I had to tell my wife to stop letting him have soda. She thought it was funny but I shut it down as soon as she told me. For the most part we share nuts, fruits, or cookies.

I have to use a travel mug too. My coffee in the mornings is as attached to my hip as my birds :). Taco, my female tiel, thinks my travel mug is her boyfriend! She has a done the mating dance to it on many occasions. Can't blame her, it's warm, tall and slim, lol

Oh boy! Lemon is also obsessed with my coffee mug! I have to get him to step up, move my hand far away, and take a sip with my other hand! Otherwise he's got his head dunked in my mug and trying to get a sip of coffee! LOL. But it's not just coffee...ANYTHING I eat or drink he automatically thinks it's his! Sometimes, it's just too much and I have to put him on his cage to eat anything:)

Harley is always trying to get EVERYTHING I eat. Sometimes I allow him to have some if it's good for him. Otherwise I put him in his cage and tell him stay or no in a stern voice. It take a few times and if he flies back to me I put him back in his cage(I don't close the door because I want him to learn) and go sit back down and repeat the stay or no. He eventually got the hint. Now he can sit with me while I enjoy my coffee and we watch TV.

Never with coffee BUT...

My little sun conure was a constant pest if you had a glass of chardonnay. It wasn't any other wine, just chardonnay. And he wouldn't try to drink it, he was absolutely determined to bathe in it... Something about the smell I guess...

Now, my BFA, was a heavy beer drinker. Former owner used to get the bird drunk... One of the reasons her liver was shot. Couldn't have an open beer around that bird.

My gcc loves tea, specifically black with honey and milk. If it wasn't on the floor it was fair game. He did manage to steal a sip once or twice but i've been good (plus I drink more green tea with honey now)

It is funny. It's also great that you don't let it continue. I can't eat Pringles if mine are out.
