My Mom is SO Sweet!

So my mom is not a big fan of pet birds. She had to live through my childhood, where I had a dozen not-so-tame budgies living free in my room that had a tendency to fly out the door at her when she opened it. HOWEVER, I have started taking weekend classes to become a PI, which means that on Friday I am gone from 8:00AM to 9:00PM, with only a few minutes around 4:30 where I stop in and say hello to Sammy for five minutes then leave again. It's only 7 weeks until school is out and I won't be teaching Mon-Fri, so it won't matter then, but my mom knew I was feeling super guilty over the Sammy issue. Come to find out, my mother stopped by in the middle of the day, sat down at Sammy's cage, and talked to him for awhile! She says she will do it every day until I am out of school so I don't have to feel guilty about him being lonely. I didn't ask her to do this, she just did it out of the sweetness of her heart. (And after Sammy nipped her on their first meeting, too, LOL!) It is so great to have family members who accept the things that matter to you, even if they don't understand them. <3

Are u gonna change ur name to Magnum?

How nice of your mother to do such a thing!!!! I have my neighbor that comes over to talk to everyone if we both work a long shift. So she comes over to give everyone treat. They all love their auntie Carol! :)

Awww... that is super sweet of her to do! I'm sure Sammy appreciates it, and heck, the more familiar he gets with her, maybe he'll decide to be a little nicer to her.

Kiwi had quite the "following" at our last apartment complex. A few of our neighbors routinely came to the window to wave to Kiwi during the day when they were outside. I definitely never asked any of them to do that lol!

We Moms are like that, when my daughter and I stayed in the same state my grandbird would come stay with me whenever she had to travel. In fact one time she left him with her best friend, he was so unhappy, he would not eat. I had to go get him. Brought him back to granny's house, he ate, played, and talked up a storm. lol

My mom is SO proud. She's been trying every day to get him to say "pretty bird" (which is a phrase I never use around him) and while he never talks to her, when he gets chatty with me he's started saying "pretty bird"--I even caught it on camera for her! She is so happy, it's adorable! (Of course he learned how to scream "STOP IT!" at the dog from me after one hearing. Got to love what they pick up.)
