My junday conure laid an egg!

My conure's name is Herbie. I brought her as a male. Last night she laid an egg. Had taken her to vet about 5 days ago because acting strangely and I though she had contracted cold me & my husband had. She is trying to lay another egg - I can see it formed inside her but not the actual egg. I am worried because she has been so stressed out and now I know why. Worried she might be egg bound. What signs should I look for that she's in trouble, how long after 1st egg should second one come out, when will I know when she's done? She is eating and drinking, did take egg because she laid it when she was laying down with me in my bed in her blanket, should I give back to her. I am still in shock from all of this. I love my bird, just want to make sure I don't put her in harms way.

I just put a link there, that lady lists all the signs of egg binding, if you're really worried though I'd just take her back to the vet.

Thanks for link. Took her to Vet today. They examined her well and thought because 1st egg laid no problem, she should hopefully lay 2nd one no later than tonight or we take her back tomorrow for egg removal. No signs of stress and egg really close to opening. I think either way she's going to be fine. Thanks again for your response.

Yes they lay their egg every other day. If she's stressed you will know cause she'll be on the bottom struggling. If tonight is the day she's supposed to lay and she doesn't, you need to keep an close eye on her and take her to the emergency vet cause you won't have much time if she does start to struggle.
