4 Budgies and 1 Sun Conure
I had a friend in Ireland who recently wrote in an email at Mileyworld that she got a couple budgies. When she told me that, I actually did not have a clue what a budgie was. I never heard the term before. So, I went to Google and looked it up online where I found out the Budgerigar (Budgie) it is a Common Pet Parakeet. “How cool,” I thought.

I have always wanted a parakeet ever since I was a kid. I started reading up on parakeets. I read books, magazines and everything I could get my hands on. I just couldn’t get enough information to satisfy my growing interest. As I continued doing research I started thinking that maybe it is time to finally get my first avian pet. I got my first pet budgies (parakeets) on July 3, 2011. Their names are:

Females: Sapphire and Shamrock
Males: Snowflake and Funshine

I joined my local bird club (rescue) and got introduced to many different breeds of parrots. I decided I wanted to get a sun conure someday. I started doing some research. After deciding to get one, I set everything up at my house and brought home my sun conure, Sundance on February, 29, 2012. He’s in quarantine now but will be out on April 3.

I took Sundance to the vet on my way home from the pet store for the initial healthy bird exam and we did the DNA sexing test. So I should know his or her sex in a few weeks.

Welcome to the forum! You've collected quite the flock already, lol! They are addictive, be careful:)

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have lovely little flock. And great to hear you did your research.

Pictures of all the little guys will be required, not optional :p (joking of course, but please do :))
