I have a 9 month old GC. She is a pretty quiet bird and loves to be held. We have noticed lately that she has had "crabby" periods. We finally decided to put her in her cage when she got crabby (biting fingers mainly). Then I noticed something....whenever she gets crabby and I put her in her cage she immediately goes potty. We actually have a system down now where she lets me know when she has to go (showing that she does not want to be handled), I walk over to her open cage, hold my finger out, she goes and jumps right back on my finger. I just had to brag :) Now....if only my Suns could figure this system out!

Hahaha, that's awesome. I'm lucky if Sammy decides to get off my head.

My Lemon does that too! He gets a little nippy and fussy and we just put him in his cage and he does his thing and jump right back on our finger. As a matter fact it took me about 10 days to two weeks to potty train him so that he will poop on command over a toilet or a garbage can or anywhere really. The nice thing is he usually doesn't poop on us!

That's exactly how my QP Clover trained me!!! She only gets crabby when she overshoots her potty time and is so heavily loaded that she can't fly to her cage or stand. Clover hasn't pooped anywhere but where she should for many months!

I wish Mr. Peabody would start giving me clues, but I think he's convinced that the ONLY place he is allowed to poop is on people's shoulders. :)
