This is my first time as a member of this community and I just got my first pair of Rosey Bourkes today! I had read up on them and expected them to be very flighty and nervous but one of them is the sweetest little thing! It hops up on my finger and follows me everywhere! The other one is very gentle but a little more wary of my hands. I know that the roseys are pretty much impossible to visually tell the sex but I know there are some unconfirmed differences. I am not too sure how old they are either, I got them at my local countrymaxx but the friendly one seems to be younger.

So anybody have any guesses on their sex? (hoping they are male and female)

Friendly one (large grey mask, black tipped beak) - Sings and whistles A LOT, extremely friendly and duller pink than the other one

Wary one (smaller mask around eyes) - he's definitely a more solid and darker pink than the other one. he struts quite a bit (mating display) and will occasionally try and preen or feed the other one, friendly one doesn't seem too interested!

Thanks! :) :rainbow1:

Mature males have a pinker face. The females have more gray and most likely a slightly smaller head. It looks like you have a male and female. Cute.

thats what i was thinking! I wasnt sure if the one with the grayer face was just younger as her feathers are lighter to. Shes an absolute sweetheart first time owning a bird that immediately trusted/warmed up to me!
