my cockatiel suddenly hates me??

Hello! My cockatiel Kinako is pretty young, only a few months old (4-6 months?) and maybe this is because of his hormones, but suddenly out of nowhere he doesnt want to leave his cage!

I wasnt able to be with him for a day because I was so busy (im sorry im usually very good at dedicating at least an hour a day with him!) and the next day I tried to let him out but he refused to step up and even hissed at me..I tried again the next day and the same thing happened. I dont think hes 'mad' or 'petty' i didnt hang out with him for one day because that has happened before, so im not sure what I should do....

I dont want to force him out when he doesnt want to but man im worried...he looks healthy and is eating/drinking normally but still. Please let me know what to do!

Your friend is young. He's getting close to the forever toddler group parrots reach. Your and your birds personality are the major factors. You know you have a life away from him. He doesn't know, understand or care. Remain consistent. My CAG is 20+ years. Yesterday was trip to doc for daughter. She's over 50 but still wants mom there. Then HD getting items for early summer or nearly, nearly spring for those not in Texas. We were gone from 0630 to 1200. CAG growled, hissed, grabbed my fingers (not hard) screaming ouch. So for an hour she hated me. Wanted to chew me up or at least threatened to. But I have flexible boundaries. She acted out then began to like me again. You're each learning the others. You want a tolerant (for the most part) owner. Not a tyrannical feathered dictator! 2 rules that help are distraction and misdirection. Distraction ..crinkle chew safe paper in his sight. Offer it. Misdirected rattle something w a bit of noise. Offer it. Repeat as needed. As he settles AND less aggressive offer a treat. You're the good guy again.
