One Cockatiel, Aska <3
As I post more and more threads, I realize how much of a novice I am lol

When I got Aska, he was habitually very quiet. (or he was, compared to his cagemate who literally screamed at me the moment i came in) He usually chirped only when he was extremely frightened, and after a while there would be days when he wouldn't chirp at all.

But now all of a sudden he just screams more and more; he's not acting too differently, now he just chirps ear-piercingly loudly. I wouldn't mind if it was a habitual thing, but Aska is usually very quiet so I'm a little concerned that I'm scaring him somehow. Or, does this sudden loudness mean something else? Am I concerned about nothing?

I love cockatiels, but hate their calls. My Sennie can be very loud at times, but she has more her quiet times then loud ones. This I can deal with.

Chirping is part of their charm though! It makes me remember that they're like little humans. Sometimes, I imagine my cockatiel going on a little birdy-sized computer & going to "humanforums.com" and asking questions like "why does my human keep changing the newspaper i poop on? humans are so weird" and "why does my human always make weird noises at me when i try to sing?"

LOL never thought about that with my bird but my dog is another story. Hahaha

They go through this loud scream when you first walk into the house then they calm down a bit. Just talk to him and answer him back calling his name saying hi and all. It's nothing too unusual! :)

I hope not! He quieted down again. I realized that it's mostly on the weekends, in the morning, so maybe this is actually a routine thing and I'm just not here for it usually!
