Hello all,

I noticed yesterday that my Jacks poo has gone brown. He seems quite healthy and very happy and chirpy.
I googled it and found a few different reasons for it, one lady was even concerned coz she wrote that she found it could be lead poisoning, but I cant find anything on that.
I dont believe Jack is sick, the only thing that I can think it may be is , that about 2 - 3 days ago my husband bought home a small tray of figs. He said he got them especially for Jack, we have never given him figs before. Im wondering if figs could be the culprit here ?? We dont give Jack pellets. He does get some seed, sunflower and a mix of a few others, but mostly veges, fruit and a mix of what we eat. There is no change in anything else other than the figs.
Would like others to share if figs can do this to their birds poo ?
I dont believe he is sick, he has no access to anything that can give him lead poisoning or there is nothing else different other than he has started barking at our kitten like a dog, is very very weird lolol..
I have only fed him fig the past 2 days, today Im not giving him fig to see what happens.
Any input would be much appreciated ...

I think you'll find the figs will be the cause.
My eclectus have a brick red colored dropping when i feed them red peppers.
As long as they are not a pale green, mustard or black & tarry.

Thank you Pedro for that. I have a feeling it might possibly be the figs. Was just a bit worried when I googled it and came across a post about lead poisoning.
Thanks Pedro

Poopy talk again....lol.....Thank Pedro for clarifying the poopy question...lmao :)

*hangs head in shame lol

toilet humour aside, poop is an all important indication of our birds health, especially if it does not related to anything they have eaten, so i always rotate what ever can colour nuts poop over much, them 1st black cherry poops really freaked me out lol
