My bird absolutely detests cell phones, iPods, and things if the sort. I've tried to get her used to them, I've put them near her cage. She's seen me use them before but she just won't stop attacking them and the people using them! HELP!

Don't worry, everyone's birds hates gadgets! Lol! I've just been able to take calls in front of my conure recently, after over a year. I would say most parronts on here have remotes with missing buttons, keyboards with chewed up keys, gaming devices that have been reduced to birdy chew-toys. :D and phone cases with beak-shaped pieces missing.

My bird has the opposite problem and he LOVES gadgets. He likes to "play" with them/destroy them. And he wants to talk on the phone too.....he gets jealous if i talk and he isn't part of the conversation. So i often put it on speaker and hold it away from us and let him 'join in'. He likes to video chat too, which cracks me up.

My caique also has this problem, and in my case it isn't a funny situation at all...Pippi goes into demon bird mode whenever there is a phone in sight, and she WILL bite anyone talking on the phone HARD. I tried to warn my mom about this, but when I came home from school one day she said she had let Pippi out for a bit, and she had also answered the phone. She had a big chunk taken out of her finger. I couldn't help but say "I told you so..." Anyway, I haven't found a solution, and she still gets really agressive whenever there's a phone around, so I've just decided not to talk on the phone while she's out of the cage. It's just safer...

Alice my sulfur crested cockatoo has the opposite reaction... When sher hears the phone ring she says: Hello!... Yes! and its really funny... And while we are trying to have the conversation on the phone, she chatters very loud in her bird language the hole time we are on the phone and people hear her at the other end... They find it very funny too..! Lol

She doing the same thing if we have have an animated conversation in the house or if we speak to each other from diferent rooms in our house and we need to raise our voices... She cracks us up when she does this! Sometimes, she's talking louder than us and we can't understand each other...:32:

All my birds love remotes, but I've never seen a phone problem. I have to assume they resent the attention the phone gets. :)

Moonlight, my umbrella cockatoo is the same! He will say "Hello!" if the phone rings... or even if I just get a text. Silly boy.

He does go after my iphone sometimes, but I think it's more after the case, to try to get it off, as a game. I take it away anyway, though, it's not a toy! (Of course, when you're a cockatoo, everything is a toy. :p )

He does get upset sometimes when I am on the phone... because I am talking, but not talking to him. Sometimes he goes into full display mode, trying to get my attention. Such a brat. <3

Be grateful.. Once they get friendly with phones, they'll be calling all over to scream at everyone they can dial!! Then once they figure out the credit card thing, you'll be getting all kinds of stuff delivered to your home that you didn't order!!! LOL

My sun conure loves to play with my keyboard, mouse and cell phone. He sticks his tongue out on the screen of my phone and has taken pictures (he seems to always activate the camera...think he's trying to take a selfie..lol). He will say "hello...hi...hi" whenever the phone rings. My amazon, on the other hand HATES our phone. I haven't allowed her to get close to my cell phone. She goes crazy if you hold the phone to her cage. Tries to eat it through the bars. Hubby thought it would be "cute" to let her talk to me on the phone one day when I was on my way home from work...LOL...he didn't try that again!

All of my flock think they are toys, but our one Goffin is the worst. She goes crazy, and will destroy phones, game controllers, headphones, remotes, and the such in a second. If you try taking them from she spins in circles so you can't grab it. If you do take it from her she latches on to it or your finger, and tries to grab it with her feet. She is also the same way with pens, and pencils.

I got bit under the chin pretty hard by Robin last night. When he bites hard he always hangs on til I pry him off. Very painful several seconds.

Trying to take a picture with the phone too close to us I guess. It was from a different angle than normal. He's absolutely fine when I take photos of him with the camera facing out from me towards him, even close up, but I think he got scared it was facing toward me (us) not away from me.

He also hates the phone when I'm using it for the internet (Parrot Forums lol) and will attack it if he sees it on the table.

Funny how he will accept this SAME object ONLY when I'm pointing it at him taking a photo.

I know it's not supposed to be funny Julie, but it kind of is. Sounds like he only likes the phone if you're taking a pic of him alone :)
