While no one would falsely accuse Kiwi of being a snuggly bird, he is still a big mommy’s boy. I am so sick with some kind of bronchitis (been sick all week, now it’s in my lungs) on top of some other things and I can barely move today. But I still had to wake and feed the green sir. Immediately noticing all was not well, my little buddy, ever the faithful yet flightless friend, would not rest (or shut up) until I put him directly behind me on the couch. My moms amazon used to do the same thing when I’d get sick as a kid, refused to leave my side. Amazons might have a ferocious reputation, but deep down, they are really loving, caring, empathetic birds. I do love and feel so much comfort from my little buddy:green:

Hope you're feeling better quickly. And give your babysitter an extra treat when you're able as a little "thank you" for his keeping an eye on you.

What a good boy! They definitely know when things aren't right, and are loyal to that need to make sure we're okay. Years ago our first cockatiel did much the same. My wife was sick in bed, and I had to work. He sat on the bed with her all day, refusing to leave until I got home.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

They certainly know how to throw the 'ol curveball at us;)

Get better quickly April!

Yet another likeness that our brothers by a different mother share. Julio's momma is his girl and if she's is even a bit off her game, he is right there.

Hope you begin feeling better. The great news is that you have eye's on you!

Hope you get some relief and recover soon, April.

I've noticed the same with several of my flock. They are such keen observers of their environment it seems logical they detect variances in our behavior and well being.

As a child I had a cat that always knew when I was sick.
She would lay in the bed with me ant take up most of the space.
She would also cause me to get so hot I had to force her off the bed after a while.

If any of my Fids have this instinct I have not noticed it yet.

You bet they know! True to his nasty personality, the Rickeybird gets MAD when I'm off my game. He resents it when my shortcomings result in his inconvenience or irritation, and is even louder and more disagreeable than usual. But that's my boy!!!!!

Hopefully you are feeling better soon. If not get u butt to the doctor. A humidity really helped me last year. I waited three weeks thinking just flu ended up pneumonia! Had to get antibiotics then got better so fast. So if you haven't already, then don't wait and see a doc :)
Glad you have a momma's boy to keep you company!

Humans hide illness from everyone, (ha ha) so take good care of yourself - bronchitis can turn ungly real quick. Kiwi is a keen observer!

Thanks everyone and just to update, I am alive! Lol. This has been the nastiest illness I’ve had in years. I’m still not fully over it:( But at least have been able to get up and do stuff yesterday and today. Still not back to normal though and leaving tomorrow for a trip we had planned for a long time.

Glad to you're on the mend April. Hope you're well enough to enjoy your trip.

I hope so too. I still have a lingering cough. Hoping the ocean air will help.

Fid snuggles help shorten recuperation times. Scientific fact.
