Peace & Quiet (Yellow-Sided Green Cheek Conures, brother and sister). They are my babies whom I love very much and they are such a blessing.
Grieving over the fact that my Yellow Sided Green Cheek Conure has died and I am very depressed over it...

He leaves behind his sister who he has known since birth. It happened this morning and I really don't know how to process thru it. His sister Qui Qui didn't seem really affected and she hasn't been by herself before. It's a lot and something to process cause I don't want her to be by herself. I also looked to get another bird - but decided against it when I saw how she started to attack him (with her and her deceased brother being 4 yrs old and the new one being about a year). I wanted the new one to be welcomed but after seeing the older one attack, I paused.

The loss of a beloved feathered family member is difficult enough. The pain that the sister is feeling has to be even more heartbreaking.

Rarely would adding another be of help until everyone has grieved the loss. This can take weeks and even months to work thru. At this point, spending time together will be great help for her and you. It's time for the family to pull together and comfort each other.

Very sorry for your loss.
Huge, Warm Amazon Feather Hugs.

Such sad news. I'm so sorry for your loss. You are not alone, we know how much this hurts. Often our birds hide sny illness, and we only know when they pass..
It's worth a vet visit for your remaining GCC as 4 years is young. Sometimes they have infection like Psittacosis, it can be treated, and it can hide in our birds then become worse for done reason. Check also for any metal that could have been chewed..
When I lost my GCC I had my other girl checked out just to be sure....
All my sympathies to you.

I’m so sorry for your loss of sweet little PCee, such a precious little soul. I lost my baby Baci at a similar age and it is utterly devastating to lose one so young, when there should have been so many more happy years ahead.

Godspeed to the Rainbow Bridge PCee, until we all meet again.

Definitely will be taking her to the vet ( as we just moved last September anyhow) and I found someone I believe for her annual.

The sad reality is that her brother didn't die of an illness - he ended up hitting the floor and that was tragic. That pains me seeing how he could've gone more years.

And yes, I am going to give it time. But I do NOT want my girl by herself when I am out at work during the day in this time. For her sake. Praying through it all as they've been on road trips with me, traveled the world and have always known life with each other.

Thank you for the kind words - it's a lot considering how young he is and how intense it is with those left behind.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, they are so much more to us than just a little bird.
RIP PCee.
Truly...

It's sad now because I hear Qui Qui (Quiet) around the house calling for her brother (or me) and I know I can't be around all the time due to work. Praying on a way to ensure she is taken care of in this time cause we've been at the house all day. But it has been intensive.

We are mourning with you. One of my favorite sayings... a burden shared is a burden lightened. You gave (are giving) your darlings an unconditionally loving home in a big, sometimes cruel world, and that's more than most birds (or people?) will ever know.
Thank you for sharing.

Sorry for your loss bro, they look like a happy pair. I hope you can give qui qui the life she deserves.

My deepest condolences for your loss of PCee. May you be comforted by his memories as you confront an unexpected passing.

A dear friend shared a Washington Irving quote:

"There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unmistakable love."
