My Alex hates my hands

Me and my boyfriend have had our Alex Bozo for about a year. He's about 21 years old. The problem that I've been having with him is he hates my hands. He won't let me pet him or anything. The funny thing is he has no problem with my boyfriends hands. The only way Bozo will let me pet him is if my boyfriend is petting him too. Bozo has no problem coming up onto my shoulder or giving me kisses but the minute my hand goes near him he gets nervous and tries to bite me. What do I do?

Alexs are known to only bond with one person in a household, well mine has anyway he only lets me pet him noone else. The best thing to do would be to spend alone time with him even just let him on your shoulder for an hour or so while you watch tv every night.

it is a case of 60 / 40. in Bozo eye your boyfriend is at 60 (Bozo Likes).
where you are at 40 ( Bozo dis likes).
you need to get to 60. you can spend alone time with him this could work.
what could be better is if you and your boyfriend are spending time with Bozo and he bites you, both of you tell him no and look at him with a look of displeasure on your faces, than leave the room for a couple of minutes.
birds being social creatures will not like being left alone.
being smart creatures it shouldn't take Bozo too long to figure it out, "I bite they leave".
if the bird is not socialized with everyone in the household they can become a one person bird. if all the household members get into a circle and pass the bird around the circle and talk to the bird. share feeding, training or have the bird join you at meal times.
I have an IRN and everyone in the household socializes with him and he is fine.
