Hi there, I'm posting for a friend. She's noticed her male ringneck has started growing out brownish/greyish feathers during his molt. I'm just curious to know if its natural or something to worry about? She would take him to the vet and just ask but the local vets here are pretty much useless when it comes to birds. I've included 3 photos. Thank you very much.

Are you talking about the primary wing feathers?

She's said that its his primary flight feathers and also spreading a bit over his body feathers

I don't really see it on the body but on the primary wing part, if you notice with the mutations of ringneck, they have the darker primary wing feathers. With his coloration being the way it is thus the brown tone on the primary wing feathers.

Could it be a possible cinnamon mutation? [not so good with hybrids, but thats the first thing that came to mind].
