Might be to show the amount of reactions a certain member has gotten in x amount of time? I'm not sure why it's there.

That's exactly as our admins have explained to us, however we have no idea what that amount of time actually is. It's kind of a built in automatic feature of the software, and we're not yet sure if there's any way to alter it. I'd personally much rather it just show the total for each member, like the old system did.
