Bitter sweet
Well I went door knocking in the neighbourhood and I found Moses' owner! I must admit I'm going to miss him but the bird and owner were so happy to be reunited. The owner was an elderly german man! I've just given him the best Xmas present ever

I have only rescued 3 Parakeets from outside, other then rehabilitating wild birds and raising wild bird babies. I did had a escapee once, a baby tiel of mine flew way up in the tree but I got him back cause I taught them to step up to a stick since they were young. I happen to have a stick long enough to reach him. About a 20ft stick, I got lucky as I lived with a fire fighter and somehow we had those sticks in the garage for some reason???

The old man just came back to my door with a bottle of very expensive wine, a box of chocolates and a kiss! He was in tears he was so overjoyed to have his bird back

I've got 12 Cockatiels not including the babies I've got right now. I've got 10 babies with me right now, 2 just weaned and hand feeding 8 and 6 of them about to fledge.

WOW I'd love to be a visitor in your house. All those cockatiels so cute! Cockatiel babies are the cutest. Rocky was the cutest baby. Now he's just so cute and geting alittle chubby to be honest! haha Well now I'm back down to three cockatiels!

I've got one baby that looks just like Rocky right now!!! But mines only a little over a month old.

Oh really?? I must have it! LOL I think pearls are the cutest personally They just look so different to the others. And Rocky smells like warm popcorn and bed sheets!

I took a picture of her just for you. She hatched out on November 20th. She is a Cinnamon Pearl just like her grandma Sybil (Dad's mom). Dad is a Pearl while the mom is a Lutino.

I can imagine how happy his owner must be thinking his poor tiel is probably dead all this time. It's like you brought him back to life for him.

Lisa, you're such a sweetie! We had a bunch of lovebirds stolen a while before you joined the forum and I would give anything for someone to knock on our door and return them to us. I can guess how hard it was to give Moses up, but you made the old gentleman happy again when he must have been grieving dreadfully. Good on you!

Yes, it's awful when something bad happens and you lose somebody but at least you know what happened. When they get lost, you would wonder what became of them, it'd be worse, in a way. He'll be so relieved to have his baby back.

I'm glad that he is home but I'm sorry that you couldn't keep him! But at least you tried to find the home unlike some other people who just keep the animal and not even try! That man is probably the happiest person on the block!
