I'd like to hear some people's different morning routines with their birds. As of now, it's 6:47am and I'm enjoying a few minutes of peace and quiet. As soon as my foot hits the floor, it's game time....they hear it and start hollering. I go to uncover them, open cages, and have the budgies food mix and water ready. I clip millet and bird bread on top.(all this while one of them is clamoring for attention) Nika is a whole different situation, I start with fresh water with a shot of fresh aloe, change out the pellet mix, crush a few Nutriberries, add that, and put it inside. Then I cook her morning pasta/rice/veggie/sprout cookup takes 8 minutes. All this while I'm being hollered at at the very top of their lungs, and my budgie keep his aerial assault on my hair and shoulder. The budgies fly off in perfect unison while Nika eats her hot breakfast. Then I slip outside for my morning coffee. Cleaning happens after I eat. I want to get ideas of people's morning routines, maybe I'll find a more efficient way than the chaotic scene I have every day (or not, I'm sort of resigned to it). Ok, it's game time, it's about to get LOUD!

My day with the fids starts at 8AM sharp every day.

Covers come off, lights come on, blinds open, and I take them all out. The big macs go on the Java trees and the Amazons on the kitchen counter with a table perch.

They all HAVE to have a piece of warm whole grain toast first thing when they come out, so before I even uncover them I plop the bread in the toaster and start warming up their breakfast.

Once they're out I clean all water dishes and give them fresh water, replenish their dry food and then start chopping fresh fruits and veggies. Ripley has a hard time staying on the Java tree when he sees my nut container or when he sees me chopping produce, so he hops on over to the counter, where I'm trying to chop up fruits and veggies, and the Amazons already have their beaks in the container and they don't care that this massive bird wants to get his head in there, too.

After putting Ripley back on the Java tree for the 10th time or so and HIDING the fruit and veggies, I fill a bowl with hot soapy water and clean the cages. After that they all get clean paper on the bottom of their cages, I fill their bowls with hot breakfast and they all get to go back inside their cages. :)

Now it's 9AM, and time to clean the kitchen, which looks like tornado valley. :54:

We only have the one. She's used to us getting up and eating breakfast. I give her fresh water and some veggies, plus a little of whatever we are eating, like scrambled egg. She doesn't cry for us if we don't come down at a certain time, but she does get upset if our younger daughter does not come down to breakfast. She likes to sleep in and Emmy just can't understand why she doesn't get up for breakfast. After breakfast is when either my husband or I will wipe down her cage, clean and change her tray and give her a misting in the shower. I'm very glad she's on the quiet side.

Oh wow, you guys have some hectic schedules!!

I might be blessed with Fargo, he doesnt care what time he comes out.. This morning he let me sleep in until 10:15am, i woke up, saw the time, jumped up and apologised to Fargo, and quickly ran and got him some food
He has never once made a noise in the morning, except saying hello when he sees me sit up in bed!

But, whatever time i wake up, usually 9am, i get his pellets, put it in his cage.. Go and feed and unrug horses, get back 30 mins to an hour later.. Fargo comes out, then i go and get him whatever is on today's menu, either fruit, some sort of vege mash, or maybe a bean-cook mix, he gets that on his gym.. Then i go back to my computer, and just start my hard day of watching movies or shows :p

I clean Fargos cage at night time, and he doesnt sleep in his cage, usually goes in there at around 4am, so his cage is clean in the mornings! :)

Woe Wendy, yours sounds as about chaotic as mine.christinereed, you're lucky! Wendy, I guess what we didn't mention(me anyway) is the usual spill, mess, or knocking something over, every damn morning, no matter how hard I try! :)
Tab-xo Fargo is so awesome I can't imagine him giving you any problems. You're lucky! :)

My routine is pretty much like Kalidasa's. Once I wake up, my conure starts calling out. I cuddle, feed him then clean his cage a bit. If I'm not at work, he just rides my shoulder all day :)

unless I dont go to work which is only on Monday and Saturday. My day starts by waking up at 7:30 and I uncover my birds cages feed them all their seed/pellet mixes and feed my Lorikeet his nectar mix, give them some chop mix I had thawed out overnight. Then I clean all the water dishes and bath dishes (12 in all) clean my Lorikeets cage and then get ready for work. I come back in the afternoon to play with them all and let them out of the cages! They also get fruits in the afternoon but not in the morning.

Hahnzel waits for me to really get up before making noise. Once he sees me getting dressed he knows I am coming for him soon. I roll out his cage give him some treats for distraction and make my protein shake and coffee. Then it's time to clean his bowls and dry them. Next stop is the bathroom and his table stand. After my shower he sits admiring his reflection while I fill his food and water bowls. Then he goes into his cage by the patio door and I go to work.

I sleep in 'till my son wakes me up....so 8 am -ish, then it's off to the kitchen to start my coffee and get breakfast ready. Jackie wants out as soon as he hears my footsteps "hello!!!! Hello Charlie!!!" (charlie is not my name), so out he comes and clambers onto his stand and then begs to be on my arm. Clean and refill the fid dishes, get breakfast ready for me, the boy, and the fids. Then Jackie goes to his gym where he can eat and do his morning routine. Then about 10ish the boy is ready for a nap, and the fids too lol

I'm usually up at 7 am, once my feet hit the floor, they all start chirping, Ninja starts screaming, pierces my eardrums before I get to the bathroom. I slip out of the bedroom, get my coffee, and sit down to watch good morning america, for a few minutes before I go back in the bedroom to get dressed.
Once I'm dressed, that's when the chaos hits. I let out all the birds at once, one cage at a time, 12 birds in total, flying around the bedroom. then I get their food, water, and veggie mix. I make large containers of them which is a real time saver.

I get ready in the bathroom with at least 5 birds watching me and wanting attention and kisses.
They all get kicked out, once I have to put cream on, or a quick spurt of hair spray.
that's when they eat, and leave me alone, whew!

this is all on top of hand feeding the current clutch of chicks, all before I take my daughter to school. then I come home, have breakfast, and clean the house for the millionth time.

I feed and do the cages at night time after dinner, it would be impossible for me to feed 30+ birds in the morning :)...which takes approximately 35 minutes -1 hour.

I get up at 4:30. Fresh water for everyone , pass out food [cut up vegs night before]. Eat yogart and nuts with Gingee . Coffee with Harlow ,snuggle with Charlotte. Let 2s out ,get ready for work ,let conures and caiques visit each other, hang out with Tequila [and rub his head.Kiss everyone goodbye then off to work. After work ,let everyone out some help with dinner some eat dinner with us ,do laundry, try to play music and get them to dance. Of course Sundays are blissful, everyones out all day
