Here are some pictures of Savannah outside of her cage. She came out today on her own and enjoyed being up top. She hasn't done that since Monday! So she is definitely recovering from her vet visit!

5/2/13 - Added some new photos today of her on her play gym and on the stick. Scroll to the next page to see those pics!

What a beauty. She is gorgeous. I love your dark wine colored walls. I have tropical shower curtains covering my walls were the cages are to protect the walls from colorful food tosses. Especially with pomegranates. The birds can make the walls look like a crime scene with red fruits. LOL Your nice easy to clean red wine walls are perfect for the red fruits. For me I just take down the curtains and wash them. All the flung foods and poo's get on the material and just pop in washer and dry and rehang. Easiest thing I do to keep my walls undamaged.

Here is a pic of Valentino's first time in his cage after we got back from the airport. He looks like he is in jail. The palm tree looking background are the shower curtains I bought and put up to help keep the walls undamaged.

Sandy & Heather - I think she is feeling much better. She's been squacking downstairs while I've been upstairs painting. Sounds like a fire alarm going off. LOL!

Noble - Love that picture of Valentino! So cute. I've actually owned that shower curtain in the past! LOL! I love to paint my walls with color. Life's too short not too! :) My walls are actually knock down (textured) so they are not really the easiest to clean. When I decided to adopt Savannah a few weeks ago, I covered that whole side of my dinning room with plastic vinyl to make it easier to clean now that I have 2 messy little critters! Great idea with the shower curtains, though. Love that idea! Although I love my cranberry walls. They've held up well since I've been in this house 10 years this coming October! Quincy's side will never totally get clean, but I know that it is his spot and I don't plan on moving him. I'm hoping with the plastic I can avoid more future damage to my dinning room walls. They are worth it in either case. Walls can always be painted and shower curtains replaced. Right?! :D

Plax - Salsa is beautiful! I am sure Savannah would be honored. :D

Copper - It's fun to see what she will do next. I had her on the stick tonight and brought her in the living room. As we entered the room she said "Hi". Her little personality is slowly coming out!

Savannah is beautiful!! So happy to see her becoming more adjusted and recovering from the vet visits, they are never fun ;) She will be playing and wanting kisses in no time! :09:

and hey, i think Fargo had first dibs hahahaha ;)

Turquoise - I read on another post you will be getting your gw soon!! How exciting! :D I cant wait to see pics of your new baby!

Yes, tomorrow we head to DFW Airport to wait for her to fly in from Washington state.:D She has a layover in Chicago & on to Dallas by 6:35 pm. Do I believe she will come in on schedule? Not a chance!!

I just hope she is not delayed for very long if it happens, we live about 200 miles west of the Ft Worth/Dallas Metroplex. That will put us getting home at least by midnight & I have to go back to work for my 4 Tue. night.:(

I will post pics next week when I'm off again. Up to now I have had update photos, which her breeder does not mind me posting. I have pretty much wanted to wait til she is home & post my own pics.;)

How exciting! I will have my fingers crossed for you that the flight is not delayed for too long. Long night and day for you! But it will definitely be worth it! ;)

Good luck and I hope all goes well. I look forward to seeing picks of your beautiful new little girl! :)

So I thought I would share more photos of my Savannah girl! Below are pictures of her finally on her play gym! I can get her on it if I put food in the bowl. She doesn't stay on it long but at least she will get on it now!

I've also got pictures of her on the stick and me petting her. Plus a picture of Quincy on my shoulder! I know, big no no! But I understand the risks! :D

Oh my gosh what BEAUTIFUL pictures of Savannah, Quincy & you!!! :D

Savannah is a true knock-out, no ifs and or buts. ;) You two are making GREAT progress. YAY!!!! AND you look so super happy together, too. :)

Quincy is a knock-out, too, by the way. BIG and majestic!

You must be in heaven having Savannah home with you. :)

Thanks Wendy! The whole family is really enjoying our new addition. And yes I am in heaven, I love this sweet girl! :D I feel like our progress is going very well. She has been very talkative every morning and I think that is a great sign of being happy! Plus, she does not hesitate to come out of her cage now when I open the door.

Big & Majestic is right! LOL! I've been told Quincy may be a "King" Congo. In either case, he certainly thinks that he is! :p

Thanks Plax - Oh bummer about the play gym. I often wonder when Savannah gets really settled in, how much damage she will do!

If she's been talking, Blanca, she is most definitely comfortable with her surrounding. :)

I bet you still have to pinch yourself every once in a while, making sure you're not dreaming about Savannah being in your house, right? :D

She'll be a BIG snuggle bunny in no time, just wait and see. ;)

Quincy is definitely HUGE for a Congo. But he looks SO sweet!! Gorgeous baby!!! :D

Wendy - Yes, I can't believe she is our bird! I've always wanted a Macaw and now I have one! :D And she is a great bird. I know with a little patience and time she will be a great snuggler.

I ask her everyday if she wants to step up on my arm and I know one day it will happen and I will be so excited!

My Quincy has been with me a long time. He is my buddy! He really is a sweet, great bird. I call him my nervous Nelly. He is a good boy, but like many greys, worries about everything. LOL!

You know another thing I was thinking about with Savannah is her owner said she did not like coming out of her cage. Well, would you living in a laundry room all by yourself! Anyway, she comes out almost every time I open her door for play time. It was so nice to see her on her cage last night as she was stretching her wings completely out. It was an amazing site and I was so glad that she was utilizing her "out time" to get in a good stretch!

Yes, I've heard that Greys are worry warts. Sounds funny! They are SO SO smart!!!

Poor Savanna sat in a laundry room! No, I wouldn't want to come out of my cage then either. :( Nothing to look at, nothing stimulating...the poor girl!

She is probably beyond thrilled about her new found freedom AND love she's receiving from you. Has she honked like a goose yet? Ripley honks like a goose and laughs like a hyena, no kidding. :54:
