I went to visit Kali today again... she is still not ready *sighs*. She was a lot of fun and she loves to fly. She was acting more shy today and gave me a pretty good bite but came around pretty quickly.
Here's the new pic's:

How great. Mine is only 8 weeks old so I still have a while. But I know how you feel. Mine is a blue and gold.

She is just GORGEOUS, Everette!!! :D You must be so itching to bring your pretty Kali home. How much longer does the breeder reckon it will be?

Sorry she bit you. Did she draw blood? I'm glad she came around for you though.

How is dad doing???

I can barely stand it anymore! Kali gave the breeder false hope when she started to reject the syringe... but quickly went back to wanting it. Her brother is going home on Saturday. As you know I have been preparing my house for her and now having everything sitting around is starting to bug me. The breeder did not give me a time range (most likely because she didn't want to disappoint me again) I was sooooo hoping that she was going to surprise me today and say that I could take her.

She didn't bite my maliciously but she did break the skin. She reached for my finger to climb up but maybe got nervous. She started to roll her beak back and forth and started adding pressure. I said no no and rolled my finger at which point she let go. I think it was mostly a bite pressure issue.

My dad is doing okay. He has fallen twice in the rehabilitation center and they are worried he may be developing dymencia (sp?) I visit every afternoon and he appears to be doing better now that I got them to stop the strong pain meds. I am hoping he is able to come home soon but if his mind starts to get worst, he may have to stay. I have been struggling with that decision but if its better for him to stay I will have to make it. The place is very nice, clean, and has friendly nurses but there is no place like home.

Thanks for asking!
I have rambled on enough. I will be posting when Kali does come home.

Kali has this beautiful purple color that came in at the tip of her wings.
I have never seen this shade on a catalina before. The pic is kinda blurry but you can see it.

I swear I notice new things about her every time I look. I really like that she has that purplish blue color. If she doesn't come soon I think im going to go crazy. She is definitely taking her sweet time. We are approaching the 4 weeks after the estimated due date, of course these things arent written in stone.
My dad seems to be doing a lot better and his mind/speech has improved significantly. He is just still not allowing or waiting for the nurses to help him. Its hard to give up your independence... I am hoping he will be home soon though.

How gorgeous!!! :O

How old is Kali now?

I didn't realise Catalinas had light eyes as babies.. I thought all macaws started with dark eyes and they got lighter when they were adults

I just love all her colours! <3

I wish i could see a catalina in real life! I haven't even seen a greenwing in real life yet haha :(
