molting ?

At what age will my sun conner start to lose his feathers? He's 10 months.

He started to lose a lot for like a week or two but then they stopped. Do is feathers look ok?

He does look like he is molting. Do you see or feel any pin feathers? They will be little feathers ecnlosed in a sheath of Keratin until the sheath dries out some and then falls off. The ones on top of the head are usually the ones you can see and feel. When they start to dry you can gently roll the new feather in your finges to help remove the sheath. Be gentle as it can irratate them if the sheath is not dry enough. They need extra calories and protein during a molt.

I do not see any pin feathers on the head but you may be able to feel them starting.

Yes he has a lot in his head they are berried in the other feathers, what i do is i try and roll them to open them but there not dry enough yet. is there anything special i should feed him?
 
Protein would be a hard cooked egg, tuna in water, chicken well cooked, yogurt, cottage cheese in small amts. For calories you could feed 2 or 3 nutriberries per day (my vet suggested this).
Be aware there may be a blood feather protected in the wings. They usually only have one or two at a time. You can look up on the web how to deal with a blood feather if it should become dislodged. Better to know ahead of time.
