molting rate

my indian ringneck is 1 ahd a half year old.it has started to lose 7 to 8 feathers in one day.ive thought of its molting season but is it the normal rate at which molting occurs or is it too fast?ain't it a disease?ive been harness traning him,should i stop because that might stress him during its molting season?
..would it help if i bath him?? thanks

My birds also seems to be going through a moulting stage right now (I'm in South Africa so it's summer here). It's not confined to just one bird but several so I can't think of any other reason for it than moulting season. Even my one male that usually doesn't suffer from too much moulting looks like a scarecrow right now from the combination of old and new feathers.

As long as the bird doesn't display signs of illness or something else out of the ordinary there's not much to worry about...pretty soon he'll have his full glorious plumage back.
