So after a 2 week stint with in laws I came back to my fids (My parents watched them and the others for me) Cheveyo has been renamed by my Mother in law his name is now Santiago Big name for a Big colorful bird. He will temporarily be Sharing a Cage with the African Grey due to unforseen circumstances but the pair seem to be doing WELL anywho./.....

This is my first Molt with him and I am PARANOID, in truth I saw him with a feather in his beak chewing on it, is this normal? Squeakers I haven't seen do it. I noticed we have a new bonding trend he likes for me to gently help with the pin feathers...he will raise his feathers.... though under his wings is horrendous he really needs feathers soon! Anything you guys do special to help with the molting process??? I know it has to itch I imagine a snake shedding skin, or when I have skin that is dry....

molting is normal my blue and gold is year old and we have a load of his feathers hes shed over this past year its normal to find feathers. just let him bathe each day and mist it should help

I call molting birdie PMS. They can get cranky. It is good that you help out with the head pins. They could use increased calories and protein at molting time. It seems to take forever to be finished.
