So in my eternal search for a low cost, safe and low maintenance way of providing a nice smell in my place my brain jumped to mint plants. Just wondering if anyone knows if they're safe or dangerous, very little info on them and seems like for most people would be a nice thing to keep as a little potted plant in the home

Oh I am absolutely sure they are safe. They are on the safe list for nearly all live/bioactive enclosure lists. Granted that's reptiles, but birds *are* reptiles so I am very confident it is safe. Alao I have fed mint out and used dried mint as seasoning in animal food. Catnip is in the mint family. I could go on, but I wont. :) safe, tho if the oils get in eyes it may be irritating as it also even is for us.

yeah the big thing I noticed come up was the irritant. Something to keep away from the booger, but at the same time I'm pretty sure if he were to get it on him he would stick away in the future
