Mini Hickory Logs?

That should be safe, since its intended to make human food with. Granted, that's just an assumption, but I know hickory is safe and there are serious rules about treating wood that is intended for grills/smokers.

So I found these, and everything I can find out about them makes me think they would be safe. ----> Char-Broil Hickory Wood Mini Logs 25 lbs.-4915306 at The Home Depot

I mean they're all natural, and 25lbs is allot.. chop it up and drill it and use it for all sorts of toys! Has anyone ever used them?

Thanks!

I plan on using Wendy's method, it is the cheapest AND it's how they make commercial toys !!

I plan on cutting/drilling them myself(don't really care to dye, none of my birds have a preference of colors or non.) I just don't have wood that grows near me that I can 'harvest'. I know there's some horse apple trees at a park, but I'd have to contact the city and find out if they use pesticides of any kind and if they'd mind if I collected fallen branches. So if I can get 25lbs of safe wood from home depot then that's just fine with me haha. :)

And I was thinking the same thing, Phlox. If it's safe to burn and cook with, I don't see why not. I just didn't know if anyone else has used them.

well I don't know how much dying I'm going to do BUT the 1 1/2 dowels, 2X2's and 2X3's are VERY Very cheap (an 8foot 2X2 is like $2)

EDIT, oh yeah the point was they are safe :)

Okay thank you!! Haha I really enjoyed the thread I was just confused as nothing was said about where the wood came from! Lol. I'll look into the wood you mentioned also whenever I go. :)
