Mini chat box*

I think this forum would benefit from a small little chat box to sit alongside the main menu. I always see a lot of people online during the day. It would be nice to have a way to drop a friendly hello.

The net provides quite a few free ones that do the job perfectly.

May require someone /or/ group of people to moderate the chatbox, perhaps rules could be invented so no foul play goes on. Or if you're really not sure do a month trial period!?!? THATS if it is doable. If not, oh well!

Why not just create a parrot forum IRC? It easy and you can browse the web and chat with everyone at the same time.

EDIT: as for moderate, you pretty much have a admin and a privileged member, give it to a select few who are on and trustworthy and call it a day lol.

We have had similar queries in the past. Members also suggested to go into IM and chat there. I believe a few of them do chat.....

1. There is no history and the info isn't searchable

2. You can't moderate it.

Ok, it can't be moderated, but how often are there problems here? I haven't seen one yet, though I've only been here a few weeks. My motorcycle forum has a chat room, and we enjoy it. I haven't ever seen any problems in there even though we do get occasional thread locks (usually for political comments).

All sounds good, maybe an IRC Channel? or a Shoutbox on the forum? either way would be cool
