Suddenly, his anger at his feet has turned into a fascination.

He has been using his feet to help him with everything from eating millet and veggies to shredding pieces of paper. Literally everything that goes in his mouth - his foot does too. ALL day LOL!

He is also learning to make strange, seems more curious about his environment (from a skeptical point of view,) and is solidly following me around the entire house no matter where I go. Don’t worry I only let him wander when my dogs are crated, cats in our room with the door closed, daughter is asleep and husband is on the couch and is told in advance that Milo is on the ground. Not taking any risks with my boy!

Oh, annnddd - he’s also VERY clumsy today. Falling all over the place. I guess he’s getting to know his own abilities lol! He’s 10 weeks today. Home for a week and a half now.

Any advice on supporting him through his stage of foot discovery and making strange would be greatly accepted! I’m not sure if it’s the same process as it was with my daughter or not [emoji38] Seems pretty similar though!

Like others have mentioned, just wait till you see him hanging like a Bat. I call him MONKEY some times.
Also, see my post from last night about, "He has ME Trained".

Just a nerd moment here. There is a reason that Parrot species have two toes facing forward and two aft as it supports their extensive use of their craws for a very wide range of activities including eating. It's kind of like that apposing thumb thing with humans. Hence, its is natural for them to use their craws to hold and eat food.

That’s awesome! I got him a bunch of foot toys when I brought him home so I’ve been giving him those, paper, and lots of snacks to hold in his feet. I had no idea the two and two was to mimic opposing thumbs!

FYI: They would say that opposing thumbs was a mimic of their two on two! :D

Hahaha! Milo does that too! I have so many videos of him staring at me at reaching out for the perch without looking at it. [emoji23] It looks so sassy!
