Yellow-sided GCC
Hi, wondering if anyone has used these? My conure just started munching on it today. If she eats too much I will remove it as she has an awesome healthy diet and I dont want to ruin it.

No problem as a treat really.. That's the human equivalent of birdie Doritos. ) Not a lot in nutrition but it has a taste most birds love. If I left one hanging in a cage it would be stripped i n 30 minutes.

I just use millet as a training treat and don't give it to my birds while in the cage. It's not very nutritious but most smaller birds love it.

I stand by junk food being a part of a healthy diet! you need to have something tasty and rubbish every now and then IMO. A little bit here and there is no worry

Syd will go to great lengths for it. I cut off 1" at a time and treat really occasionally.

basically millet is parot crack cocaine...I'd advise using it for training....or showing your bird you love him. Yes like notasdumbasilook or lordtriggs said, its like lays potato chips or doritos.

For whatever reason my GCC never really gets that excited for millet. But I'll sometimes cut off a small piece as a special foraging treat and hang it in his cage. Makes a great treat but I wouldn't make it a daily staple.

Yep, thats what I am going to do since she seems to like it enough to destroy the whole thing in a few days.
On another note, my GCC loves to try and open a small plastic container with snap lid containing some of her pellet food. It rattles and she will work with it on the floor for a loooong time. She eventually gets it open thanks to my lid-adjusting activities on the down-low.

Odd bird out here... I bought these & my Grey never took to it. I finally gave it to my wild feathered friends in my yard. :D :grey:

I think larger parrots prefer things like nuts and sunflower seeds. Smaller birds like millet as their treat.

I am new to owning birds and I am trying to train and bond with my budgies currently. I am using millet to get them to step up. So far no luck. Any advice from an expert would be great.
