Might see aurora borealis tonight where it usually doesn't happen.

If you are in northern or southern latitudes a geometric storm is going to hit tonight, so as south as minnesota or iowa etc. You might get to see what alaskans get. When it gets dark head outside and at least take a look up. They are saying it might be near a carrington event. Hopefully not that bad though. If it happens it will be around 8pm central-ish......it may be visible from more middle latitudes on the horizon.

That's gorgeous, Jon! I just checked for the 10th time and still nothing here:(
I couldn't even form a sentence the first time I saw them, heck, they still take my breath away.

awesome pictures! might be more the next night too! Never know, they are still monitoring.

It was nearer to 11:00 pm for the far Western segment of the Eastern time zone. A joy to watch as it brought back memories of Years gone by and our travels to far Northern Michigan to see them. We normally do not see them this far South. Clouds filled in after about 20 minutes.

Again, thanks for the Heads-up good friend!
