Microchipping

I am wondering if there is a microchipping system for birds that allows us to gps them, Let me explain why

Monday as every other day I placed my ekkie out on the porch in his outside cage and was feeding him lunch, I went in to get water and he was gone, that quick, all doors was closed and locked to so I have NO CLUE how he got out, I spent around 7 hrs walking and calling him, but with the wind (we live up stairs) I knew he had to of gotten flight , he may have landed in a field either side of me but he wasn't making a sound if he had,... I was devastated to say the least... Now he was found 2 blocks away , he had been hiding under there house, and came out finally when there grandson went out to pay they brought him to me...

Now if there was somesort of a gps system I would have known for sure where he was within so far...

Is there such a thing and if so can I have a name...

Unfortunately not for a gps. The only trackers for birds you can get are the collar like systems that are used on birds such as birds of prey etc.

Would have been so nice to have the peace of mind that you can 'find' them if you need to. So glad you got your baby back!

I think there are GPS trackers you can place on birds....

However, with a parrots beak, I wouldn't expect them to stay on for very long...
