Mickey keeps trying to eat dog Food!

So Mickey has suddenly become obsessed with my dog's food bowl. Whenever I fill up the food and water dishes, Mickey always comes over to check it out. The first time i realized he was doing it, he had already started eating a piece of my dog's food. Mickey is not scared of the dog at all and will go right up next to him and try to take a piece of food. My dog just lets mickey do whatever he wants. I've had to feed the dog in a separate room. But that only upsets Mickey. I've heard that dog saliva can make parrots sick so how can I stop him from doing this? should I just continue to feed the dog in the other room or can I just "train" him to not go over there?

Dog saliva can make parrots sick and the dog food isn't good for Mickey. I would take away the object of Mickey's obsession as a temporary solution and consider station training to keep Mickey off the floor.
