Henry (Red-Crowned Amazon, ~15), Joey and Sophie (Congo African Greys, ~17)
I adopted Henry last weekend and our first week together has gone great! I have been trying to find more information on her species, Mexican red headed amazons, and I haven't found much beyond the basic species profiles on parrot sites. I was wondering if this lack of information had something to do with the species having at least three names in aviculture! What do you call this amazon, Amazona viridigenalis: green cheek amazon, red-crowned amazon, or Mexican red headed amazon/parrot?

I'm an old fuddy duddy, Green Cheek Amazon.

Do you mean two different species?

Same bird ,just different names.

I have found all of the following: Red Crowned Parrot, Amazon / Green-cheeked aka Red-crowned Amazons, Mexican Red Headed Parrot, Mexican Red Headed Amazon. Doesn't make research on the fly so easy. lol
