Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum, don't own a conure but LOVE them to pieces.
Today I was walking home and heard a squawking behind me, but I had my headphones on and live in a generally loud, urban neighborhood. But then a guy passes me on his bike, and low and behold, he has a BCC on his shoulder, squawking away. I was so excited, and yelled after him, hey is that a conure?! And to my absolute pleasure he stopped and we talked for about 15 minutes.
This was a true birdman. He was absolutely charming; had a thick island accent and this beautiful, gregarious 13 year old blue crown that he takes everywhere he goes, named Elijah. Elijah was a little nippy but super friendly, came right to me, talked, danced, and loved his dad. The owner was very astute and in tune with Elijah, told me about his history and past bird loves. I really hope to see him again. He was a true eccentric I'd love to get some photos eventually.
Cheers!
