hello everyone
can someone help me .
can i use Merenti wood(Philippine Mahogany) to make bird box?
Thanks :rainbow1:

Still researching, but where is the wood coming from? (regardless of type--that matters). Also- what type of bird will you house in it? Do you mean to use it to make a cage or a nest box?

Welcome to you!
A second question, why are you wanting a nest? I ask, because I originally thought this was essential! Fortunately, my vet was wiser, and I listened!

I couldn’t find anything that listed it as bird safe under any of the names that I could find for Meranti, Shorea, Philippine Mahogany. I would err on the side of caution and not use a wood that I couldn’t verify was safe (there are many that are not).

Welcome to the forums! I'm not familiar with exotic woods, hopefully you will find an answer!
