After scrolling through photos of my lost boy Duckie I've been put into tears there is not a day that I don't go thinking about him or missing him. He was such quirky and loving little boy. For the short time i and he allowed me into his world, seeing the world through the eyes of a parrot. He had been my first parrot and yes he was a pet shop parrot but i believe we were destined for him. I first saw him two days before went on a 2 week cruise, he was with another conure in a tiny cage. I had asked my mum if we could get him and she said if he is still there when we get back then yes and surely enough he was there 2 weeks later. The first couple of days home were rough, he was a little biter and would bite every time you got close but one thing he loved straight away was scratches from inside the cage. As time went on his personality started to shine, he was quirky and loving parrot who loved loved sunflower seeds and apple. After months of having him he grew very attached to me! which I loved, every time i was waking home from school i could hear him down the street and i walked in the door and in his cage he would be there waiting. He caught onto words and tricks so easily, he used to say, "duckie" "duckus" "kisses" "Duckie scratch" "hello Duckie scratch" he was my trick bird, he was able to do wings, flip, wave and spin. 6 months into the time we got him was the first time he allowed me to have him on my finger i felt so honoured that he was finally accepting this. Duckie you were my best friend, my little man, my baby and my rock, I hope you enjoyed your time with me and I hope that you are flying free.
