With the recent tragedy in our family I never posted what I intended to post on Sunday morning. On Saturday night we took Mel with us to my friend's house, which was the first time since coming home that she has left our house. She is not harness trained yet so she went i her carrier which she loves. We let her out and let her on the couch and she decided to take a couple of turns around the room. At one point she got disoriented and knocked over a glass of milk but that was the biggest mishap of the evening, and once she was up on the play stand she was able to see the whole room and was very calm. She did have to be moved to a different stand because she insisted on trying to stand on the cage of my friend's Eclectus, who did not appreciate it and endeavored to remover her toes. She later got really brave and tried to eat the toys we were building, which was fine. She suddenly got it in her head to carry out myschief, and went into the tiel cage, which left both tiels unsure of themselves. She sat on their water dish, drank thier water, and accused me of never EVER giving her ANY water of her own, which was a completely false accusation. Because our toy making was taking much longer than expected and Mel seemed to have had enough for the evening, we removed the tiels from their cage and closed the door with Mel inside, she napped for the remainder of our stay, and protested a bit about going back into the carrier, but eventually complied. We are so proud of our little girl for all the progress she has made!
