Meloxicam side effects?

My bird recently was at the vet, they told us that she had a mass near her cloaca that possibly could damage her organs becuase she had hard to breathe. Such is a bit sad and concerning. So we got meloxicam and should give her it two times a day for her whole life, and im just wondering if it has any side effects, if your birds take it for any specific reasons or if you have any experineces of meloxicam?

Does the dose need to be exactly? No meaning to give her more why i am asking this is becuse we will be away for a week, my dad has a freind that could babysit them. But i dont know how she can give her her meds? I am a little worried about that. But if she has the meds in her body system,still could it be okay?
