Greenwing Macaw
So the way it seems to work here in the Philippines is that the birds are bred on the breeder's farm in a far off province, and then at about 3 months old, they are delivered to the breeder who usually lives closer to civilization.

My greenwing was just delivered yesterday, and we learned that she has born on March 29 and was tested as female. As an LOTR fan, I decided to name her Precious.

I drove to the breeder today to meet and greet and was surprised at how big Precious was already. Does she look normal sized for a just under 3-month old greenwing?

Even though she just went through a lot of travel and placed in new surroundings the day before, she seemed surprisingly sweet and calm. Fell in love immediately! The breeder says she'll be able to come home in about another month or so, so until that time, I'll be visiting Precious weekly. So looking forward to bringing her home!

Hello kababayan! (It sorta means fellow Filipino)

While Im not in the Philippines, I do go home once in a while. If I lived there my b&g would totally have a huge outdoor aviary that she can hang out in year round! Will yours be indoors or outdoors or both?

Congrats in the new addition! She's beautiful! Maganda!!

Hi and Congraz..... ^_^

Precious fits her very well because she is Precious. :07:

She is JUST TOO Precious! You both looking good together...

No.. She is not too big for her age. She will be bigger.... I always have a very loving soft spot for Green-wing. Well.. maybe one day... I will...

**Wishful thinking***

She'll have an indoor cage and an outdoor perch. But I'm considering putting a net over my whole backyard and turning it into an aviary, haha.

Congratulations to you and Precious! I've only had an adult Greenwing so cannot judge her size. They are among the most magnificent and personable of macaws, you are in for a treat!!

She matches the stairs nicely lol! Very lovely girl---love that fluffy head of hers! She definitely looks young. They are huge birds and yours does look like a baby..dk about 3 months (could be), but a baby for sure.

If you are serious-- just make sure you use netting for Macaws---random netting can be toxic if it isn't stainless/aluminum (things like zinc etc are very bad for them) and thinner wire and net can be chewed too easily.

^people have done this, which is why I wanted to mention it-- lol! Dk if you were joking, but just in case you weren't, that is something to consider.

While I do not have any real experience, she seems similar to the size of some of the Greenwings I have seen at about 4 months. Absolutely stunning bird, you should be very proud.
