Rio - White Earred Conure
Henry - Quaker Parrot
Henry joined our family on Tuesday and has fit right in! He is 9 years old and I adopted him from the foundation after getting to know him the past few months. He is sweet and steps right up once he is out of his cage...and will laugh if he doesn't step up, what a turkey!

We got him a bigger cage, which he is eyeing warily. He and Rio get along well and are starting to groom each other, but are always supervised when together. I'm excited to see what dimension this guy adds to my mini-flock!

congratulations!! He is absolutely adorable!

I just love quakers, but I hear they can be loud :(
it's even better when your bird accepts a new one, now he has a friend, that is awesome

Henry isn't as loud as I thought he would be, but he can wind up occasionally! I do love that they get along...just want to make sure they still love the humans.

A warm welcome to Henry! :) It's always nice to have another Quaker join the group.

Ralph would point out that not all Quakers are loud-- he certainly isn't-- though many can be. :D

Congrats on the new baby! Did you guys not practice quarantine??? Or has he been to the vet already given a good bill of health?

Mikey, no I did not have to practice quarantine since Rio has been going to the aviary as an ambassador/both have been checked for any and all diseases by the same vet. I would have if necessary though! Rio boards occasionally and had to be checked off by the vet and Henry went through his quarantine before being introduced to the general population!

He's lots of fun!

Thanks all! I absolutely love him...he decided to talk the other day...Hello, Pretty Boy, Henry, but only with the tv on! He and Rio are great friends and Henry wants more out of the relationship! Rio is indifferent to that sort of shenanigans. She has pulled back from me a little (no head scratches, doesn't sit on my head all the time), which I miss. Henry is on my shoulder often, so I suspect she's miffed at that!

OMG, I missed this post.....so sorry.
I tend to look at Amazon posts most of the time.
They are just made to be together....so cute.
That is so exciting that Henry talks!
Love the picture.
I just wish my birds are friends....but it always takes them from bonding with you a little (or a lot). Simba is bonding with me like crazy and doesn't want to do anything with Marley.....See you this coming Sunday, I hope.
