Hi all...I havent been on here in a while...I got a new baby today, another blue Indian Ringneck, I am unsure of HAROS age, I was told he was about 3 weeks old??????.. he still has bald spots, & you can see little black dots, where his feathers are coming through...He is so adorable & cuddly...He is on a formula, like a bird cereal mixed with water & fed by a syringe...I have followed instructions...Can I feed him pureed fruit this young???Is there any other information I should know about raising such a young bird??..any help will be great..Thanks
:confused::) :blue2:

Awwww he is soo cute!! He does look about 3 weeks old... but I've never really looked into IRNs so I'm not sure. MagicMary asked a similar question (http://www.parrotforums.com/new-members-welcome/13825-help-age-irn.html) and yours and hers look about the same age I would say :). What a cutie! Congrats on your new addition!! Sorry I can't answer your other questions, I'm not expert on baby birds either :o.

I would just try to grate some fruit and vegies (like apples and carrots), put it in his cage, if it doesn't get eaten in 24 hours, try again...

I found Max (alexandrine at 4 weeks) would always eat a bit of fruit and vegetables, and I'm still offering him new stuff.

What a cutie!! I love baby birdies!

Is Haro old enough (3 weeks) to be in a cage with perches??.. I am a bit concerned about his feet/toes.
At the moment he is in a wooden nesting box...should he be drinking water???..

Sweetest little baby face!

Hi Indi! I would say Haro is between 4 and 5 weeks old maybe a bit older, definately not 3 weeks old. have a look at this link
http://www.flyinggems.com/Mediumbirds/irnbabies.html it should give you an idea of how old he is. I insist that mine is about 6 weeks old even though I was told he is now 5 weeks. Rusty has been in a cage since he was four weeks old, but we have very high temperatures here, so I did not need to provide heating for him. AND he is already climging his ladder and sitting on his perch. I put a small teddy and an old t-shirt in the cage for him - they like to cuddle when they are so small. If you are feeding him the correct consistency of formula you don't need to worry about water yet, only once he is weened. The formula contains enough water for him at the moment. If he is interested i fruits, you are welcome to give it to him. Good luck - he is gorgeous!!!

I actually have a weird aversion to really young baby birds (don't shun me!) but that little whippersnapper is CUUUUTE. Congratulations!
