"Geddy" Pineapple Green Cheek Conure
Geddy arrived at my home a few weeks ago after I made the big mistake of going to the bird shop and "Looking around" found this baby Conure. He/She is a few months old (I have not gotten a hatch date or sexed yet).
He had been very well behaved and had no trouble getting acclimated to his new home although...
As I hear Conures are known to be a bit nippy, as he is young and loves to play with my fingers he will "taste" a bit hard some times and I not wanting to lead him into a biting habit and am not sure what to do. He is a snuggle bug already and do not want to discourage him but.

Hi, If he is exploring and not breaking the skin (yet) you can :_

do nothing and see if it stops
distract him with something else
say a stern 'no' (not shouting) and/or return to cage.

He's sweet btw.

So far he is just exploring and has not broken skin. He almost looks at me like he is sorry when I say no and I have just started taking him back to his cage, he does not like that. He seems to want to hang with me almost all the time.

He will catch on :)

I tend to use a stern 'no' and then if required ie no notice taken it's back to the cage.

Sometimes a mini time out helps if he wants to be with you. Small bite, he goes to sit on top of cage or on bird tree rather than sitting with you. You can feel less guilty about doing that, haha!

Not to derail your thread but.. I HAVE to ask about that cage. Is it stainless or aluminum, and if so where did you get it? Or do you have the name of manufacturer? I've been looking so hard for something like that as an outdoor cage, smaller bars, not too heavy.

I got this cage at the AZ Bird Store in Mesa, AZ. I will ask who the manufacturer is next time I go in. It is chromed steel and has a handy top door that opens for a top perch.

Thank you Aluminum! That is one great looking cage. Let me know if you get more info!

I see two more birds in your very near future.
(named Neil and Alex)

It would be a RUSH in this house if there were 2 more named Alex and Neil.
I figure Alex as a Cockatoo of some kind as he is kind of a clown and as far as Neil goes I am still unsure.

Neil might be a CAG.
