Makisig (4/11/2020)
Mayumi (4/11/2020-1/4/2023) Best friend of me and Makisig, our sibling, the one we cherished. Please fly high for us and donāt stop at nothing
When I saw you I bought you just because of your beautiful plumage.
But soon I realised that your personality shone more colourful than the colours that made your feathers.
Even though you always took the vegetables I fed to your brother (Makisig) separately or screeched him off because you didnāt like how he was on your perch you never failed to preen his feathers on him when he couldnāt do it himself.
But you fell ill to avian gastric yeast infection which cut your lifespan.
To Makisig nothing was wrong, to me I was worried, but to you; you never stopped being yourself.
I know that birds hide their illnesses out of instinct but you still shone heavily despite your situation.
You were never apart until now.
We went to the vets for the first time but unfortunately I didnāt know that youād take your migration over the rainbow bridge on that day.
I knew you were suffering so it was in my best interest to put you down as I knew not much could be done.
Youād soon pass away soundly within my varsity jacket while your brother sat near.
As much as sad as this story sounds, I donāt see this as sadness but rather a celebration of a budgie of small beginnings.
Even though she hadnāt lived her life to the fullest she had lived and loved it to the best.
Even if I could extend her lifespan or bring her back from the dead, there would be no point as we have one life for one reason. To cherish it.
There was a video that Iād love to post of you but unfortunately it takes too much storage when uploading here. But either way you were happy and joyous the way you acted in that video. Rest in peace Mayumi, fly high and beyond your migration to the rainbow bridge. (4/11/2020-1/4/2023)
